ULTRA BBL – A SAFER BBL WITH ULTRASOUND GUIDANCE

October 12, 2022 | Brazilian Butt Lift, Ultra BBL

3 Minute Read:

The Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) has become one of the most popular cosmetic procedures in recent years. And, as with any popular procedure, there are always new techniques and technologies being developed to improve upon the existing ones. Enter the Ultra BBL.

Recent news reports have highlighted the dangers of the BBL. One of the risks of BBL is a pulmonary fat embolism, which occurs when fat enters the bloodstream and lodges in the lungs. This can lead to serious breathing problems and even death. This can only occur if fat is injected into the muscle or blood vessels. But with newer technologies using ultrasound, Dr. Agullo can see exactly where the fat is being injected. This ensures he stays away from the muscle and vessels.

What does this mean for you? It means that your BBL will be performed with precision and accuracy, resulting in a more aesthetically pleasing outcome with less risk of complications.

Dr. Agullo is a board-certified plastic surgeon who specializes in aesthetic surgery of the face, breast, and body. He is one of only a handful of surgeons in the country who performs the Ultra BBL, which uses ultrasound guidance to ensure a #SAFER BBL.

So, if you’re considering getting a BBL, why not go with the #SAFER option? With Dr. Agullo’s techniques, you can be sure that you’re getting the safest, most effective treatment available.

WHAT IS A BBL?

The first step in understanding why the Ultra BBL is such an improvement over traditional BBLs is understanding what a BBL is and how it works.

A traditional BBL involves taking fat from one area of the body (usually the abdomen, love handles/flank, or thighs) and injecting it into the buttocks to create a more curvaceous figure.

The fat grafts provide shape and volume to the buttocks while improving their overall appearance by providing them with a lifted look.

While a traditional BBL can produce excellent results, some inherent risks are associated with any fat grafting procedure. These risks include infection, fat necrosis (death of fat cells),  asymmetry, hematoma, and fat embolism.

ENTER THE ULTRA BBL

So how does the Ultra BBL differ from a traditional BBL? The biggest difference is that it uses ultrasound guidance to ensure accuracy when injecting the fat grafts into the buttocks. This technique has several benefits:

  • No intramuscular injection – By visualizing the anatomy with the ultrasound, Dr. Agullo can ensure that the fat is not injected into the muscle. All cases of fat embolism have had intramuscular fat injections.
  • Reduced risk of injury to blood vessels and nerves – This helps minimize bruising and swelling after surgery and decreases the risk of potential complications such as nerve damage.
  • Greater precision – This leads to more symmetrical results and minimizes the likelihood that some areas will receive too much or too little fat grafting.
  • The increased retention rate of grafted fat cells – This leads to improved results as more of your grafted fat cells “take” and survive in their new location.
  • Reduced surgical time – Since ultrasound guidance ensures greater accuracy, there is less need for revision surgeries down the road.
  • Lower risk of complications – Because the injection sites are carefully planned out using ultrasound guidance, there is less risk of a fat embolus or other potential complications related to the fat grafting procedure.

IN THE END

When it comes to getting a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL), why settle for anything less than the best? With Dr. Agullo’s technique using the Ultra BBL, you can be sure that you’re getting a safe, effective treatment that will give you beautiful results that you’ll love for years to come!
