Plastic surgery is a one-and-done thing, right?
While every person who undergoes plastic surgery hopes that they will never experience any complications, this is not always the case.
Plastic surgery is invasive and complicated.
While the vast majority of surgical procedures are successful and do not require adjustment, others may require a revision procedure either immediately or years down the line.
Will I Need Breast Revision?
Breast augmentation is the most widely performed plastic surgery with over 360,000 breast enhancements completed last year.
With so many augmentation procedures performed, it makes sense that there would also be a significant number of revision procedures.
Breast revision is performed after a woman experiences complications with her implants or changes her aesthetic desires.
This procedure involves the removal of the damaged or unwanted implant/s and scar tissue, and the placement of new implants.
Implants do not have to be replaced during a breast revision. Some women choose to remove their implants permanently.
Breast revision is a necessity following a breast complication such as:
- Capsular contracture
- Implant rupture or leak
- Implant displacement
- Bottoming out
- Double-bubble deformity
- Symmastia
It is also performed when a woman wishes to change the size, shape, texture, or profile of her implants.
Will I Need Revision Rhinoplasty?
Rhinoplasty is performed on men and women who are dissatisfied with their nasal aesthetic or have experienced a nasal trauma that has resulted in breathing or functional difficulties.
Nose surgery is one of, if not the most, complicated surgical procedures to perform because of the nuances of the nasal structure and uncertainties of the healing process.
Revision rhinoplasty, or secondary nose surgery, is performed to correct undesirable nasal aesthetics or breathing complications that were not fixed or caused by the first nose job.
Revision rhinoplasty can correct:
- Nasal humps or bumps
- Collapsed nostrils
- Over or under-correction of the nasal profile
- Deviated septum
Will I Need Tummy Tuck Revision?
Tummy tuck surgery tightens abdominal contours that have been affected by a pregnancy, significant weight fluctuations, or the aging process.
This surgery tightens the midsection by removing excess skin and fat, and repairing loose or torn abdominal muscles.
Tummy tuck surgery usually provides beautiful, lasting results; however, if the results are not as you hoped, tummy tuck revision can create smoother transitions, even out irregular contours, and sculpt the hips.
This technique can be performed to:
- Revise tummy tuck results after pregnancy
- Address additional weight gain
- Alter a belly button that was not addressed
- Reduce the appearance of tummy tuck scars
